Marketing Adventure #1: Marketing Myth

Just recovering from an illness and now am well enough to recommence posting! Sorry to all my millions of readers. I am kidding, very few people read this blog as of now.

When I was developing anyInput, I thought marketing would be a simple. I would just tell friends and family about anyInput and that would be it! They would spread the word and the site would become a success. Maybe, I was just too excited about anyInput. The thing I misunderstood was that most people would not be interested in anyInput concept and excited enough to spread the word!

So I e-mailed friends and family and watched the analytics. Sure there was small spike in traffic initially. However, the traffic from this campaign died within two weeks. While, this source resulted in some interest in the site, it was not sustainable or targeted. At that point, I made the realization, that I must put more thought into how to market anyInput. I had to figure out a way to target traffic. And ideally this source of traffic should be sustainable traffic source . The next thing I though about was mass e-mailing people. I will talk about this tomorrow.
