| Organization Description | The Evanston Community Development Corporation (ECDC) was estabslished in October 2003 by a group of community business and property owners and residents of the Westside of Evanston. This area constitues the historic African-American community of Evanston. The organization focuses on the redevelopment and reviatilization of the Westside; while watching out for the interests of the people who live there and work there. ECDC focuses its energies in three areas; affordable housing; economic development and workforce development. |
| Project Opportunity | The primary project that we would like to work on with NBI is a business needs assessment of the businesses that are in the 5th Ward of Evanston. This would determine the type of technical assistance small businesses need as part of ECDC's economic development efforts. Such a study would help lead to the stabilization and health of the business community in the 5th Ward. |
